TWO teenagers are due to be sentenced in June for attempted murder after a boy was stabbed 23 times in the Le Geyt estate in St Saviour.
Alex Diogo Franca De Jesus (19) denied the charge but was convicted by a jury last week. Jayden Howard (18) had already admitted attempted murder and was not involved in the trial.
Both defendants appeared via video link at a Royal Court hearing yesterday to set a sentence date. De Jesus was represented by Advocate Rebecca Morley-Kirk, and is due to be sentenced in June.
Howard, represented by Advocate Nicholas Mière, is due to appear for a Newton hearing and sentence on 13 and 14 June.
A Newton hearing takes place when the defendant has pleaded guilty to the offence, but has pleaded guilty to a different version of facts from the prosecution.
Both are due to be sentenced before the Superior Number of the court.
Lieutenant-Bailiff Anthony Olsen was presiding.
