A THREE-BEDROOM duplex apartment in Beaumont could be converted into a ‘unique holiday-home experience’, if a planning application is approved.

Applicant Jayne Bizec intends to change the use of the property, which leads directly onto the beach at St Aubin, from residential letting into self-catering accommodation.

In a supporting letter, Ms Bizec wrote: ‘We would like to explore this opportunity to create a truly unique holiday-home experience and highlight what Jersey has to offer.

‘I am writing to request planning approval for the change of use of the above named property from a residential letting to a self-catering accommodation for the purposes of tourism.’

The most recent tenants left the apartment on 31 January, according to the application, and since their departure, Ms Bizec has ‘explored our options with running a furnished self-catering accommodation’.

She said: ‘The property was built circa 32 years ago and consists of three double-bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms.

‘We are not proposing any structural changes to the inside or outside of the property, nor any reconfigurations.

‘Subject to approval, we will be redecorating, laying new carpets and including furnishings.’
