POLICE are seeking a possible luggage thief after a passenger found their designer Mulberry suitcase was nowhere to be seen as they disembarked a flight from London to Jersey.

The suspected theft happened on Tuesday (28 February) around 6.50pm.

In an appeal for information, a police spokesperson said: ‘A passenger travelling to Jersey from London on Easyjet flight EZY897 had placed their black Mulberry carry-on suitcase in the overhead lockers above rows 4 -6 on the plane, a few rows in front of where they were actually seated.

‘On leaving the plane, they discovered that their bag was no longer where they had placed it and had been taken as the passengers disembarked the plane on arrival in Jersey.’

They described the bag as being made from black fabric and carrying a Mulberry motif, with two small wheels and a pull-up handle.

‘There is a black leather tag on the case with the owners UK details and it had a worn Flybe sticker on the handle,’ they added.

Anyone who has more information is urged to contact police on 612612 or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their online form.
