WORK is expected to start today to replace an old electrical cable at Albert Pier which powers the lifeboat station and the Jersey Boat Show.
The cable has become ‘unreliable’, according to Ports of Jersey.
Work to replace the cable and to install ducts for the new wires will be done in two phases.
Phase one, which will also upgrade the power supply to The Lifeboat Café, starts at the hire-car area and will finish just past the barrier which marks the start of the permit-parking zone. The first phase is due to be completed on Friday 14 April, and traffic management will be in place until then.
Phase two will begin after the Jersey Boat Show, and Ports of Jersey said that those affected would be informed once the dates had been confirmed.
