TWO bodies have been found in the area of a sunken trawler following its collision with a freight ship on Thursday morning.

The three fishermen on board L’Ecume II – Michael Michieli, Larry Simyunn and Jervis Baligat – went missing after the 18-metre fishing boat collided with Condor’s Commodore Goodwill off Jersey’s west coast.

States police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that two bodies have been located in the area of the sunken trawler.

‘The search and recovery operation is ongoing and will continue while the weather permits,’ a spokesperson said.

‘Family members continue to be supported by specially trained Police Family Liaison Officers.

‘A further update will follow when available.’
