AN ‘environmentally-sustainable’ electronic music festival which plans to donate all profits to charity is set to take place for the first time this bank holiday weekend.

The Full Circle Festival, previously known as Reasons, will be held tomorrow and on Sunday in Coronation Park.

Ben Newman, one of the festival’s organisers, said: ‘From a values and ethos standpoint, we want to operate as a carbon-neutral event and we are working with Durrell’s rewilding project, so that any carbon emissions given off by the festival are offset in other ways.

‘We are also using all recycled materials for our stage design.’

Mr Newman said all of the profits made from the festival would also be donated to Jersey Recovery College, LGBTQ+ charity Stonewall and humanitarian organisation Choose Love.

He added: ‘It is wonderful to be able to get things rolling again and we are so grateful for the opportunity to put something on again.

‘One of the organisers of Reasons decided to focus on other ventures, so it didn’t feel right to continue without him and it seemed like a great time for a rebrand.

‘The event is set to feature two main stages – made up of international DJs from a range of genres such as drum and bass, techno and house music.’

There will also be a number of smaller stages featuring local artists and DJs.

And local art groups will showcase their work throughout the weekend as part of an exhibition being held at the festival.

‘As well as featuring a huge array of talent, we have ensured that our line-up is gender-balanced, keeping in line with one of our core values of inclusivity,’ Mr Newman said.

‘And we want to show massive appreciation towards the local authorities, who have been so supportive of the event.

‘It has been a really challenging couple of years and there are going to be some real long-term effects from Covid on our industry, so I would encourage everyone to continue to get behind these events and our nightlife,’ he added.
