THE cause of a fire on Victoria Avenue this morning – which damaged four vehicles – is being investigated.
Firefighters were deployed to the layby after receiving a high number of calls around 5.40am.
A white Renault Traffic van was ablaze and completely destroyed – as was a nearby Audi TT.
On arrival crews were met with three vehicles on fire and a fourth suffering ‘radiant heat damage’. A white Renault Traffic van was ablaze and completely destroyed – as was a nearby Audi TT.
Firefighters quickly tackled the blaze and prevented further vehicles from catching fire. Nobody was injured and the cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
The police have said that the fire is being treated as suspicious and are looking to speak to two men who were seen in the area around the time of the fire. Police said that one was in a white top and dark trousers and the other in a red top with blue shorts.
