A MAN has been found guilty of murdering a woman 32 years ago and attempting to murder her elderly aunt.

After a six-day trial, Rickie Tregaskis, now aged 53, has been found guilty of killing Barbara Griffin and seriously injuring Emma Anton in a flat on the Le Geyt estate in St Saviour in the early hours of 2 August 1990.

Mrs Griffin (59) was stabbed in the chest and died in hospital less than three hours after the attack, while 84-year-old Miss Anton was stabbed repeatedly but survived.

Tregaskis denied the murder and attempted murder.

He stood trial in the Royal Court for the same offences in September and October 1991 but was acquitted.
