Real HouseGuys of Jersey are back too

A COMEDY podcast about the Real Housewives of Jersey has returned for a second season – after the hosts befriended one of the show’s cast members.

The Real HouseGuys of Jersey was started by 30-year-old John Liot shortly after the TV programme, which follows the ‘glamorous’ lives of seven Jersey women, first aired on ITVBe and ITVHub in December 2020.

Mr Liot said the weekly episodes produced by him and his co-host, Ollie Watts, containing humorous commentary about the housewives, and their antics had been received well, revealing that the duo had even been invited round for drinks by cast member Tessa Hartmann.

He said: ‘I don’t think we expected any of the housewives to actually tolerate the podcast, let alone enjoy it. Tessa is about the banter and we have created this really nice relationship out of this silly situation.

‘It was her advice we sought for styling the impeccably parodied season two promo shots.’

Mr Liot added that there was enough demand from listeners for the podcast to return for the second season of the Real Housewives, which is currently being broadcast.

He said: ‘Season one was more successful than Ollie or I could have imagined. We both had no money coming into this project so it was more for a joke that I put some money into promoting episode one. I’m glad I did though because it got the word out and the season had a consistent listenership of several hundred people by the time we hit the finale.

‘Episode one is still our most listened, of all my podcasts – it is closing in on 3,000 listens, which is insane and hilarious.’
