Among them is an application for the former premises of jeweller Darius Pearce, who is currently in custody after being convicted of money laundering, which could be turned into a craft beer outlet called Craft.

Marcus Calvani has lodged an application for first (taverner’s) and sixth (off) category liquor licences for the unit in the Central Market.

The entrepreneur, who co-founded JBs Smokehouse and Bar, already runs The Lido at Havre des Pas Bathing Pool and is also involved in Bliss Brewery – a craft beer brewing company. His application is due to be considered at a St Helier Parish Assembly tomorrow.

Also on the agenda for the assembly is a liquor licence application for the nearby former Jersey Pottery store on the corner of Waterloo Street and Halkett Place.

Nicola J Santos-Costa has applied for a first, third and sixth category licence for the Bar Centrale premises, which in a recently-approved planning application is described as an ‘upmarket European-style wine bar’ serving cold and tapas-style food alongside fine wines and cocktails.

And with the Le Masurier Bath Street development progressing quickly, Randalls has lodged a liquor licence application for the site. Developers have previously said the complex will include a Premier Inn and retail outlet as well as a bar and restaurant.

Meanwhile, Nina Garcia of Alaro Ltd has applied for a liquor licence for 11 Caledonia Place – a unit at the Weighbridge formerly occupied by Magic Touch. A planning application submitted for the unit includes plans to turn it into a restaurant.

All of the applications are due to be considered at tomorrow’s parish assembly, which is scheduled to start at 7pm. As a result of Covid restrictions, parishioners wanting to attend need to register in advance by contacting parish secretary Alison Sweeney on 811880 or by emailing parishassembly@posh.gov.je.

The assembly will also be broadcast online but only those attending in person can vote.
