Armed police arrest four teens following knife reports in alleged King Street assault

Armed police were called following ‘numerous’ 999 calls concerning a group of teens believed to be carrying weapons.

The teenagers – three 14-year-olds and one 16-year-old – were arrested on suspicion of common assault, possession of an offensive weapon and disorderly conduct. They remain in custody pending further inquiries. Police say two knives were found.

An adult man received minor injuries during the incident.

Duty inspector Sian Gidley said: ‘The States of Jersey Police received numerous 999 calls following reports of an assault taking place involving a group of youths, believed to be in possession of knives. The incident took place in King Street midway between New Cut and the Apple Crusher.’
