PRIDE OF JERSEY: Last call for Pride of Jersey nominations

PRIDE OF JERSEY: Last call for Pride of Jersey nominations

By last night 144 people had been put forward – already beating last year’s total.

And with nominations set to close at midnight on Sunday 13 September, the JEP is issuing a final rallying call to Islanders to help recognise those who have gone above and beyond to help others during the past year.

The awards were launched six years ago to honour Islanders in a variety of categories.

And the 2020 awards feature a new category – Mental Health Champion of the Year.

Richard Heath, JEP deputy editor, said: ‘This year has been an extraordinary one and many people have come forward to do extraordinary things in our community.

‘We have had a fantastic response so far, with the number of nominations even eclipsing last year’s very impressive total.

‘We know there are even more people out there who deserve to be recognised, so this is a final call to readers to put forward those they believe should be honoured for all that they have done during this last 12 months.’

Everyone nominated will be put to a public vote. A panel of judges will then be asked to pick the winner from a shortlist of three in each category.

All those shortlisted will be invited to an awards ceremony in December hosted by former footballer Graeme Le Saux and singer Georgi Mottram. Further details about the event will be released in the coming weeks.

To nominate visit prideofjersey.com or complete the nomination forms printed in the JEP.
