Buses to return to capacity

Buses to return to capacity

At the height of the pandemic, the buses operated at 50% of their seated capacity and, since July, they have been allowed to run with full seated capacity.

However, following discussions with the Public Health Department, they will resume full operational capacity for standing and seated passengers. This has been agreed in part to assist with commuter traffic as schools return next week and increasing numbers of workers are returning to their office.

Anyone over the age of 11 is still required to wear a mask when travelling on the main bus network. While face coverings are not compulsory for passengers on school buses, they are recommended.

From Tuesday, drivers will also be able to give change to those paying by cash. Until then, anyone requiring change will be given a credit voucher which has to be redeemed at Liberation Station.
