Four people – three men and one woman – were in custody on Saturday following the alleged incident, which it is claimed happened at around 11pm between the Fort d’Auvergne Hotel and Carlton Apartments.
The States police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen the alleged incident or who may have information about it to contact them.
In a statement, the force said there had been a ‘significant police response’ which included firearms officers and a police dog.
The person who called the police, it is claimed, said that there had been a hammer and baseball bat involved in the alleged incident.
