The pair came up with the idea when they were at home in lockdown and wanted for an outlet for their competitive race-running drive.

An idea for a virtual race then developed into a non-competitive fundraising run for charity. Recognising that people were struggling with their mental health during lockdown and that exercise can be very beneficial, they teamed up with Mind Jersey to stage the Free Your Mind virtual run.

The event took place at the end of last month when adults and children ran, walked or jogged one of three distances – 3k, 5k or 10k. Around £400 was raised for Mind Jersey and the 40 runners who took part were each entitled to a medal (provided by Island Trophies), which were presented on Friday.
