Appeal after passerby assaults boy

According to the States police, on Saturday at around 3.40pm two boys had stopped on their bikes between the Burger Kiosk at Bel Royal and the Gunsite Café. A man they didn’t know then cycled by them and hit one of the boys for no reason as he went pas, before cycling off towards Bel Royal.

The ten-year-old victim was left with a red mark on his face and ‘quite frightened by the ordeal’, according to the force.

In a statement, they said: ‘This man is described as between 25-30 years old, with ginger hair and a beard. He was wearing black work boots and he had paint on his clothing.

‘Anyone who may have seen this or who has any information is asked to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their anonymous online form at Crimestoppers-uk.org.’
