Thousands watch big band on Facebook

Little Black Dress recorded eight individual parts which were put together in a video that was streamed live via their Facebook page.

Since then more than 5,700 people have watched the video, which featured the band performing several famous soul and pop songs.

Manager and trumpet player Luke Brown said that the gig was ‘really thrilling’ and a follow-up was now being planned for next month, with a set list to be chosen by Islanders.

‘All the comments we got thanking us during the gig were so nice and it showed the benefit of doing this because so many people watched it,’ he said.

‘Being the band manager I was particularly proud of everyone, especially Alice, who as lead singer was performing to a camera and a wall, instead of an audience, but still brought the performance she did.

He added: ‘It is not just about us. There are loads of bands who are doing this sort of thing at the moment.’

Little Black Dress are planning another online gig on Friday 1 May.

Mr Brown said that the band would publish 30 songs and Islanders would be invited to choose their favourite five. The top ten choices would be then be performed.
