Major exhibitor pulls out of Jersey’s Battle of Flowers – and it is not known whether the parade will go ahead

The parish of St Clement have announced they will not be taking part in the event, should it go ahead. Battle of Flowers organisers are yet to make a decision on whether the parade, which is held in August, will take place this year.

Announcing the decision in their March newsletter, the St Clement Battle of Flowers Association said: ‘It is with a heavy heart that I write to inform you that the decision has been made to withdraw our entry from this year’s Battle of Flowers.

‘At this stage there is no confirmation as to whether the event will take place and at this stage it is doubtful. Our priority is to ensure that you are all safe and that we can guarantee that people can work safely on the exhibit and attend our events.

‘Over the coming months we will be following developments closely and as soon as it is possible we will be putting on events which bring our parish community together.’
