Two new routes for Blue Islands

Two new routes for Blue Islands

The year-round services to Birmingham and Exeter will start on Wednesday and can soon be booked online at blueislands.com, the company said on Saturday.

On Friday, passengers due to fly with Blue Islands but who had booked with Flybe for trips from Tuesday onwards were told that they needed to rebook.

Blue Islands then relaunched its online booking facility, which it had scrapped when it became a franchise partner with Flybe. Bookings can also be made by phoning 0203 7443689 between 8am and 8pm.

Blue Islands chief executive Rob Veron said: ‘As a locally-owned and operated airline we are committed to serving the Channel Islands’ communities and we are delighted to be able to confirm these two new routes to maintain essential connectivity between Jersey and the UK. Our aim is to sustainably develop our route network and invest in our air links.’

Ports of Jersey chief executive Matt Thomas added: ‘We are delighted at the announcement that Blue Islands will be flying from Jersey to Birmingham and Exeter. As a Channel Islands-based airline, Blue Islands share our confidence in the strength of the Jersey market. We are really pleased that they have acted so quickly to add these routes.’
