Woman arrested for alleged New Year’s Day assault

The States police said that officers were called to Stopford Road – near to the 2nd-Hand Shop – at around 4.15pm following a disturbance involving four people.

During the incident, the force said that the 42-year-old, who had long brown hair and was wearing a furry grey coat, allegedly assaulted another woman in her late 30s, who had blonde hair and was wearing glasses.

States police officers subsequently arrested the 42-year-old on suspicion of common assault, disorderly conduct and malicious damage – for allegedly breaking the window of a nearby residential building. She has been released on police bail.

No one required hospital treatment and no further arrests were made.
