New work starting on Five Oaks roundabout

New work starting on Five Oaks roundabout

From 9am on Monday, motorists will not be able to access the roundabout from Grande Route de St Martin as the southbound lane will be closed. Signed diversions will be in place from Maufant Village, via La Hougue Bie to Five Oaks.

Rob Cabot, highway maintenance manager, said: ‘We have finished the improvement works to the northbound pavements and vehicle access points and thank motorists for their patience during this time. As we now enter the second phase of work, it means changing the diversion route around, meaning access to the roundabout from Maufant, heading towards St Helier will be affected.

‘Morning commuters are asked to allow a little extra time for their journey to St Helier. We apologise for any inconvenience but we expect delays to be kept to a minimum.’

The roadworks will be suspended from midday today and across the weekend as the Jersey Rally takes place on nearby roads and lanes.
