Emergency call-out to Elizabeth Castle
THERE was an unusual sight at Elizabeth Castle on Monday when an injured woman had to be carried past St John’s School children who were being given a talk by one of the attraction’s ‘living history’ monks.
The woman hurt her ankle while climbing the steps of the Hermitage. Firefighters and a paramedic made their way to the castle by inshore lifeboat and took the woman to a waiting ambulance.
