Learn more about suicidal behaviour

Learn more about suicidal behaviour

The free course is being run by Jersey Recovery College, in partnership with the Government of Jersey, and is open to anyone who would like to increase their awareness of mental health and suicide in particular.

The first course will take place on Tuesday from 9.30am to midday to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. It will be repeated on 24 October from 2pm to 4.30pm.

Beth Moore, Jersey Recovery College’s manager, said: ‘Every one of our courses is led by two people, one of whom is a professional in their field and one who has had first-hand experience of the impact of mental illness and recovery.

‘Knowing that the course is being led by people with life experience will not only enable delegates to get a deeper understanding of suicide, but will also create empathy and challenge the stigma around mental health.’

The internationally accredited course is licensed by Connecting with People and is being delivered by a representative of Health and Community Services and a JRC peer trainer.
