A spokesperson for the Growth, Housing and Environment department said that ‘an issue with the non-slip surface’ at the Millbrook pool was the cause of the closure.
Work is under way to find a solution so that the pool can reopen as soon as possible, the spokesperson added, but it is expected to remain closed over the weekend.
News of the closure comes as a disappointment to young Islanders and their families, after the initial reopening came just in time for the start of the school summer holidays, and ahead of the next wave of hot weather, with Jersey Met forecasting temperatures of up to 30°C by Tuesday.
