WITH just four days left until nominations close for the fifth Pride of Jersey Awards, Islanders are once again being urged to celebrate the Island’s unsung heroes.

The awards, created and organised by the JEP, recognise those who go above and beyond for their community.

A total of 94 nominations across 13 categories have so far been received, but there is still time to submit nominations, with categories including Inspirational Leader and Neighbour of the Year.

The competition features a wide variety of categories, which celebrate contributions to different aspects of Island life.

The JEP has again teamed up with a group of local businesses that have each become official partners for the 13 different categories. Each partner has chosen to support an award that is relevant to them and each will be putting up a prize worth £1,000 for their group’s winner.

JEP editor Andy Sibcy said: ‘Once again we have received an overwhelming number of nominations across the 13 categories and it has been humbling to read the ways in which so many Islanders go above and beyond the call of duty to help others.

‘There are just a few days left to nominate, so please let us know if there is a person or organisation deserving of recognition.’

To nominate your local hero, visit Nominations close on Saturday 13 July at midnight.
