Jersey has joint-wettest start to summer in 12 years – but forecasters are predicting more sun and warm weather for July

A total of 91.6mm of rain was recorded during June, which is regarded by meteorologists as the first month of summer.

It is exactly the same amount of rain as in June 2012. The last time Jersey had a wetter June was in 2007, when 105.3mm was recorded.

A total of 43% of the month’s rain fell on two days (the 7th and 11th).

July, meanwhile, seems to have got off to a better start, with forecasters predicting that the current sunny and warm conditions will last until at least the early part of next week.
