Proprietors Franco and Gian Vedovatti have taken delivery of the device, which is available to provide immediate help to anyone who has suffered a cardiac arrest.
The new defibrillator was financed by a donation to the Jersey Heart Support Group from an Islander who survived a cardiac emergency last year.
Mike Strong, from the support group, said: ‘We were very pleased to receive a large donation to cover the full cost of a defibrillator and outdoor cabinet, enabling it to be available 24/7.
‘This generous individual has gone beyond what most of us would do after such a life-threatening experience and the defib is there to restart a heart, if and when required.’
Mr Vedovatti said: ‘We’re very happy for customers, beach visitors, staff and local residents alike – we will all have peace of mind as a result of having this device.’
The Jersey Heart Support Group has worked to provide a growing network of defibrillators across the Island using donations from corporate sponsors such as Appleby and Nedbank, as well as private benefactors.
