Henry Cavill set to return for Durrell Challenge

SUPERMAN star Henry Cavill will be running with Islanders next month during the Durrell Challenge 2019.

The 35-year-old actor, who is a Durrell ambassador, will be taking part in the annual 13km road race, which starts in St Helier and finishes at Jersey Zoo. The fundraising event is part of the Really Wild Day, organised by the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which takes place on 12 May and is this year sponsored by Butterfield Bank.

Mr Cavill, who attended St Michael’s Preparatory School, starred as Superman in the latest film reboot of the franchise, as well as appearing alongside Tom Cruise as CIA agent August Walker in Mission: Impossible – Fallout.

The actor has taken part in the run before. Ahead of joining entrants for the Challenge last year, he said: ‘I don’t get to come back here as often as I would like, so it’s going to be nice to visit the Island on foot.’
