Fire crews were called out at about 8.30pm on Monday after receiving multiple calls about the blaze in Stopford Road.
Two engines manned by eight firefighters from Green Watch were sent to the scene.
They were met with large amounts of smoke pouring out of the garage, which was attached to a property.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus forced entry into the garage and successfully extinguished the fire.
In a Facebook post, the Jersey Fire and Rescue Service said the Islanders who raised the alarm enabled the ‘incident to be brought under control before it had chance to escalate’.
