Hotel makes it into the top 25 in Europe

Hotel La Place in St Brelade appears at number 20 in the list and is one of only five hotels from the UK to feature.

The hotel also ranked third-best in the UK – up one position on last year– and was recognised for its service, coming 15th in the UK category for hotels for best service.

Meanwhile, Longueville Manor also ranked in the top 25 hotels in the UK, recognised in 25th place. And the hotel was named in the top 25 luxury hotels in the UK, in 22nd place.

And the Merton Hotel was voted the fifth-best family hotel in the UK. General manager Michael McInerney said that his team were ‘delighted’ to receive such ‘high recognition’ from the world’s largest travel website, on which more than 1,000 other UK family hotels are listed.

The TripAdvisor awards have been running for 17 years and winners are based on the millions of reviews and opinions collected during the previous year.

La Place group general manager Tim Brooke said: ‘We work very hard to provide the best possible standards and service for our guests and we are delighted that our efforts have been recognised once again by TripAdvisor.

‘Last year La Place achieved fourth place, so to move up the rankings is very pleasing for us, especially being ranked within the top 25 hotels in Europe for the first time.’

And Longueville Manor owner Malcolm Lewis said of his hotel’s awards: ‘I am delighted.

‘This is a remarkable tribute to the amazing contribution of the whole Longueville Manor team and the hard work they put in on a daily basis.

‘We consider it an extremely important accolade, as it’s a true reflection of how the market sees us.’
