Pay dispute: Unions and States agree to talks

The States Employment Board met on Thursday to agree that officials should meet union representatives through the Jersey Advisory and Conciliation Service.

Chief Minister John Le Fondré said: ‘We welcome the progress made and look forward to productive discussions with our union colleagues.’

Earlier this week, hundreds of public sector staff went on strike in protest over pay deals. The SEB have consistently said that there is no money available to fund increased public-sector pay offers.
