Information appeal after fly-tippers strike

The items were left on land just off La Verte Rue and environmental protection officers are now appealing for information to help them find the culprits.

Richard Runacres, waste and water management officer, said: ‘It is particularly disappointing that an individual or business has taken a decision to dump their waste in the tranquil countryside of Jersey.

‘As a community we all have a part to play in keeping Jersey clean and tidy. That means taking responsibility and dealing with your waste properly.’

Anyone who recognises any of the items, or noticed any vehicles in the area recently, is asked to contact the Environmental Protection unit anonymously by telephoning 709535 or by emailing envprotection@gov.je.

The incident in Trinity follows another that took place earlier this month in St John, where a radiator, hedge cutter, spare tyre, car battery, wheel barrow, bottles and cans were left next to railings at Sorel Point.
