St Michael’s raises £23K for charity

Three local charities which were nominated by parents will benefit from the funds. These are CLIC Sargent (Jersey), Diabetes Jersey and Robin Ward at the Jersey General Hospital.

Andrew Harvey, chairman of CLIC Sargent (Jersey), said: ‘We would like to thank the children, the parents and staff of St Michael’s Preparatory School, and everyone who supported this wonderful fundraiser. We are so grateful as donations like these are pivotal to our ongoing work.’

Mr Harvey added: ‘Currently we are supporting 11 families in Jersey who have a child suffering from a cancer-related illness. Our aim is to help to ensure that every child and young person with cancer and their loved ones receive the help they need, whether that be assisting financially with areas such as air fares to the UK, accommodation costs, household bills and such like as well as emotional support.’

The charities will each be presented with a cheque at a school assembly early next year.
