The States police say that the fight happened after an argument broke out between three men and two women in King Street which then continued in the Royal Square.
Another assault then occurred in Library Place, and when the group reached Mulcaster Street one of the men was allegedly assaulted by a man with a pole, according to the police.
Two men, aged 24 and 27, were arrested on the night and were later released on bail.
