New Finance Centre building is opened

At six-storeys, the block, called IFC 5, has a combined floor space of 69,000 sq ft and features a central landscaped outdoor area called Trenton Square – a reference to the capital of New Jersey.

Finance company SANNE has already taken a 56 per cent lease of the building and is due to move in shortly. Another company, which has not yet been named, has taken a 30 per cent lease and the remaining 14 per cent of the building is expected to be filled before the end of the year.

The structure has been designed to maximise natural light and floor-to-ceiling windows have been used on all floors and, according to developers the Jersey Development Company, all of the building’s occupiers will be situated no more than seven metres from a window.

The company also expects that food outlets will soon begin operating from the ground floor.

Jonathan Ferrara, managing director of client services for SANNE, said that the move tied in with an important milestone for their business.

‘This year we are celebrating our 30-year anniversary and, as the business started in Jersey in 1988, it is fitting that we are moving into our new offices at this time,’ he said.

‘The SANNE business has grown over the years and taking up residency in Jersey’s premier office location in the new International Finance Centre fits with our aspirations to be a leading global services firm. We are looking forward to a great future at IFC 5.’

Meanwhile, Reza Schuster, director of MJP Architects, said that they were pleased to have been a part of the project.

‘MJP are proud to be part of the team delivering a world-class new financial district for Jersey’s premier industry,’ he said.

‘The successful completion of IFC 5 builds on the gold standard set by IFC 1, and the latest International Finance Centre development forges an important second link in the chain which connects the Waterfront to the historic town.’
