Several parts of the centre, including some changing rooms and toilets, have now been closed while tests are carried out.
A section of the Active Gym has also been closed and sealed off while work is carried out to remove asbestos material which may cause issues in the future.
And a three-day inspection of areas and rooms at Fort Regent was due to conclude today[08AUG].
Jane Rogers, operations manager for La Petite Ecole, a nursery housed in a separate building on the eastern side of the complex’s grounds, said that they were not concerned at this stage.
‘A couple of parents have phoned us as they were slightly concerned about what they had read but we are carrying on as normal,’ she said.
‘We have not had any direct information from Fort Regent at all, we have not had any update from them.
‘From what I understand the problems are all contained to a small area in the main building but we do not know any more than that.’
