Free holidays for the elderly or disabled

Free holidays for the elderly or disabled

The destination is Maison des Landes hotel in St Ouen, which has been providing accessible holidays for over 50 years.

Offered by the Lions Club of Jersey, the holidays run from Saturday to Saturday until the end of the first week of October, and include collection from and return to the guests’ houses, excursions, entertainment and full board.

Guests can participate in activities such as bingo, karaoke and ten-pin bowling, or use the wheelchair-accessible swimming pool located in the hotel. Round-the-Island tours and visits to local sites are also available.

With a range of specialised equipment and rooms that include wheel-in shower facilities, electric beds and an easily accessed dining hall, the hotel is able to cater for any and all disabilities.

Guests are welcome to bring a partner or friend, who will also stay free of charge, in order to provide care, as the hotel does not have any nursing staff.

The holidays are subject to availability, so potential holiday-goers are encouraged to apply soon. Further information and an application form is available from Bob Gaiger on 482035 or by emailing rgaiger75@gmail.com.
