Island photographer’s royal christening picture released

Mr Porteous was invited by the Royal Family to work alongside official photographer Matt Holyoak to capture the christening, which was held at the Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, on Monday 9 July.

And yesterday, a week on from the occasion, Kensington Palace released five pictures from the day – including a photo Mr Porteous took of the Duchess of Cambridge holding her beaming son in the grounds of Clarence House.

Mr Porteous, of Studio M at Colomberie, said: ‘It was an honour and a privilege to photograph the christening of Prince Louis.’

In a tweet Kensington Palace said: ‘The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an additional photograph taken following the christening of Prince Louis.

‘The Duke and Duchess hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do.’

This is not the first time that Mr Porteous, a former Les Quennevais School pupil, has taken pictures of the Royal Family. In 2016 he was commissioned to shoot Prince George’s third birthday and his images were featured on the front cover of Hello! Magazine as well as in the Daily Mail and the Daily Express.

Mr Porteous, who attended Bel Royal School, also photographed the wedding of the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister Pippa, who married James Matthews in a star-studded ceremony last year.
