Crowds materialise as David Tennant appears
DR WHO has visited many strange and unusual locations over the years – but this weekend was probably the closest the Time Lord has come to landing his Tardis in Jersey.
In the end, however, former Dr Who actor David Tennant used more traditional methods to get to Jersey, where he was one of several stars of stage and screen that visited Cineworld Jersey for the local premiere of You, Me and Him on Sunday evening.
Written and directed by Daisy Aitkens, the daughter of Jersey-based screenwriter Michael Aitkens, the film is a romantic comedy about the trials and tribulations faced by a lesbian couple on their journey into motherhood.
The screening raised funds for the Jersey Baby Bean Appeal to buy a wireless £15,000 foetal monitor for the Hospital’s maternity unit.
The Baby Bean Appeal is a collaboration started four years ago between Philips Footprints Jersey and Baby Lifeline.
The sell-out event saw a large crowd gathered outside the cinema to greet the cast and crew – among them actress Lucy Punch and comedian Sally Phillips as well as Daisy and Michael Aitkens – and was followed by a Q&A session about the film.
