Scottish flights popular
PASSENGER numbers for Scottish air routes have risen 39 per cent up to the end of May, compared to the same period in the last two years.
A total of 22,222 passengers have travelled on the Scottish routes so far this year, boosted in part by the new direct flight to Edinburgh, which started at the end of March.
As well as Edinburgh, direct flights are also offered from Jersey to Aberdeen, Glasgow and Inverness.
A spokesman for Ports of Jersey said that operator easyJet was pleased with passenger numbers for the new Edinburgh flights. He added that it is currently only a summer service, but as with similar routes, if demand is high and aircraft are available, the airline will consider introducing a winter schedule.
