Jamie Lee Warn is due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, having been charged at 18.25 pm on Saturday.
He is also accused of attempting to pervert the court of justice following the death of Miss Besenyei, who was last seen on Thursday 10 May.
Her Ford Fiesta Ghia was found on the beach near La Haule slip the following Monday. Two days later, her body was discovered at Le Pulec beach at the northern end of St Ouen’s Bay.
A spokesman for the States police said they would not be making any further comment at this stage.
They had previously called on the public to help them piece together her final movements.
