Mind Jersey’s Carers’ Forum is open to any family members or carers of those suffering with mental illness and will be used to help give carers a voice and to inform policy decisions.
It will also work to raise awareness of the issues faced by carers and give members a chance to network and become more informed.
Those interested in joining the forum are now being invited to get in touch with the charity.
James Le Feuvre, executive director of Mind Jersey, said: ‘We are proud of our existing service and see the launch of this forum as the logical next step in providing increased support to these carers.
‘Caring for someone with a mental health issue can be challenging and sometimes overwhelming. Carers need to be acknowledged for the support that they provide, listened to, respected and heard.’
