The Championship outfit are set to welcome Irish provincial side Leinster A to St Peter in the semi-finals of the British & Irish Cup, with Harvey Biljon’s men chasing successive appearances in the final of the national tournament.
Mr Morgan, who is hoping for an attendance in excess of 2,000 people this weekend, believes the importance of the home clash should not be underestimated. Jersey reached the last four of the competition in 2016 and 2017, but both of their previous semi-final fixtures were played away from Stade Santander.
‘Home advantage is made exactly that because of the crowd,’ he said. ‘With the introduction of the cowbells and the traditional board-banging, there has been a nice atmosphere up there this season.
‘It would be great if we can get past the 2,000 mark on Saturday … it’s the old cliché but it really would be like having a 16th player.’
The Reds – beaten 29-28 by Munster A in last year’s final in Cork – could well host this year’s trophy match on the weekend of 11-13 May, should they progress.
