UPDATE: Woman left lying in road after alleged hit and run in St Helier

A 60-YEAR-OLD woman was left lying the road with several fractures following an alleged hit-and-run in town.


She was struck by a white van as it turned left from Raleigh Avenue onto Rouge Bouillon on Wednesday evening. The vehicle failed to stop and continued on towards Midvale Road.

The woman suffered a number of fractures to her upper body and is being treated in hospital.

The road was closed from the top of Midvale Road to the roundabout at the bottom of Queen's Road for a number of hours from around 7 pm while officers examined the scene.

Investigating officers have appealed for any member of the public who witnessed the collision, or who may have been in the area with a dashcam or headcam, to contact them on 612612.
