Tamba Park development plans come before inquiry

If the first set of plans is given approval, a holiday village of 27 two- and three-bedroom self-catering units would be built at the park.

The second application is to demolish glasshouses in a field next to the activity centre and build a four-bedroom house, garage and swimming pool.

Environment Minister Steve Luce called for the inquiry because the plans – to build properties in the green zone, where there is a presumption against development – are a significant departure from the Island Plan, which sets Jersey’s planning policy.

The inquiry, being conducted by independent UK planning inspector Graham Self, is being held at the Members’ Room at the Société Jersiaise, 7 Pier Road, and is open to members of the public.

Deputy Luce will make a ruling on the planning applications after taking into account the inspector’s report.
