Condor cancels Rapide crossings

News | Published:

SAILINGS scheduled on the Condor Rapide between Jersey and St Malo have been cancelled on Friday 9 February and the following weekend.

Condor said the cancellations were due to the vessel remaining in dry dock longer than planned and forecast poor weather.

A revised schedule will be in place through to Monday. Condor Liberation and the conventional passenger and freight ferry, the Commodore Clipper, will prove cover during the period of disruption.

There will also be an additional sailing to Portsmouth on the Clipper on Sunday.

Paul Luxon, chief executive of Condor, said: ‘It is unfortunately a perfect storm as the stevedores’ strikes in St Malo in early January prior to the start of dry dock delayed Rapide’s original departure to Falmouth by three days and last weekend the poor weather meant we were unable to refloat her for commissioning as planned. Conditions on Friday are also restrictive for services between Jersey and St Malo and this requires further amendments to our schedules.’

All passengers are being offered a transfer to the next available sailing or a full refund.
