Havre des Pas flats scheme unveiled

Mevanna Prestige Limited wants to develop the site between La Plage Apartments and the Marina Hotel which overlooks the promenade between Green Street slip to the Fort d’Auvergne Hotel.

The plot is currently occupied by Caribbean Vibz ( formerly Nelson’s Eye restaurant), Maison Chaussey Guest House and Drifters Beach Bar and Bistro. The rear of the properties back onto Havre des Pas Road.

If approved, the development would comprise 19 one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom flat with basement parking. A gym is also included in the proposals along with road improvements.

The new development would be within the same height range as the neighbouring five- and six-storey buildings.

The agent for the application is Axis Mason Architects, who have also designed the scheme.

‘Numerous properties along the coastal road have undergone renovations or redevelopments – most notably the Carlton Apartments – to contribute to the area’s
urban regeneration,’ the design statement says.

‘The design of the scheme, therefore, aims to continue with the rejuvenation by providing a more appropriate and characterful development consisting of contemporary apartments that will assist
in the repair of the streetscape and increase the value of the surrounding area while maintaining a scale which is appropriate to the context.’
