Severe weather warning issued for Jersey

On Monday, Storm Ana felled trees across the Island and left a number of roads flooded. Ferry services to France were also cancelled.

Now Jersey Met has issued an orange level wind warning – the second-highest level of alert – for severe gale force nine west to north-westerly winds with gusts up to 69 mph in the Channel Islands area.

The worst of the winds are expected overnight on Wednesday.

By Friday the winds will have swung round to the north, bringing colder conditions.
