Tourist info centre to move

In February last year the centre moved from Liberation Place to the Jersey Museum, but it is now set to move once again and will based at Liberation Station from April.

LibertyBus director Kevin Hart said: ‘Tourist Information doesn’t have hundreds of people flocking there every day – it has a steady flow of people throughout the day.

‘We are going to take our quieter stands and move them nearer to the tourist information centre.

‘The busier stands will then be moved further away. We hope this will deploy the flow of passengers more evenly across the station.

‘We will need to put in a new desk and some additional work will need to take place.’

The company has not disclosed how much it believes the work will cost.

Mr Hart added: ‘I think the move will boost all forms of transport links. We aim to give all our visitors an experience they will remember. We see ourselves as being a one-stop shop which delivers everything for an individual.

‘We are right at the start of town and there are other bus tour companies close by. I think the move will mean the centre is right where it needs to be.’
