Jersey couple release pictures and video showing Irma devastation

The images show how the property where Tim and Shona Ringsdore were staying had the roof ripped off by the category five storm.

The pictures, posted on Facebook, also show how a tornado which was embedded in the hurricane cut a path right across the grounds of the property.

As well as pictures, Mr Ringsdore also uploaded a video filmed during a drive around the main island of Tortola showing widespread devastation.

Mr Ringsdore, the former managing director of JT in the Channel Islands, and his wife left the BVI on Tuesday and are now in Puerto Rico.

They are due to fly to Florida, where their daughter Kelly was forced to flee the storm as it made landfall on the US mainland, before possibly returning to Jersey.

Earlier this week Mrs Ringsdore told how many islanders had been left with nothing, and described how looters had started targetting wrecked properties.
